2019 Ford Ranger: Coming Soon to North NJ!

The Ford Ranger will be making its comeback in 2019 and we can't wait for its return to roads in Morris County NJ and beyond! You can tell just by its looks that it's designed to perform & impress.

Among the strong appearance cues of the Ranger are a raked grille that's thinner than the one from previous models, a tailgate with the Ranger nameplate and frame-mounted steel bumpers with an available integrated trailer hitch for easy towing. Under the hood, you'll find an efficient 2.3L EcoBoost 4-cylinder engine that's paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission.

This midsize truck is an ideal off-roader thanks to wide approach & departure angles, high-strength steel frame and the optional FX Off-Road Package with the 4-mode Terrain Management System™ & Trail Control™, a cruise control system made for low-speed rugged terrain.

The 2019 Ford Ranger also houses advanced technology designed for your safety and entertainment. Just a few features that'll be offered on this pickup include:

  • SYNC® 3 with Apple CarPlay & Android Auto compatibility, Ford+Alexa personal assistant and optional navigation
  • FordPass™ Connect 4G LTE modem for WiFi on up to 10 devices

History of the Ford Ranger

The Ford Ranger is a compact pickup that has been known to get the job done in terms of hauling cargo while still giving drivers who aren't looking for a truck that's made exclusively for heavy-duty performance. The 1983 model started it all with a choice of 4-cylinder, diesel and V6 engines.

The 1986 edition saw the debut of the SuperCab that offered more interior storage space, as well as the Ford Ranger GT model that offered some exclusive equipment inside. The Ranger received a revised look for the 1989 edition that offered a new steering column, flush composite headlamps, new grille & front fenders and more.

The 3nd generation of the Ford Ranger started with the 1993 model and provided additional restyling, a new engine lineup including a 2.3L, 3.0L & 4.0L and the Splash trim level with lowered suspension, unique chrome wheels & more. Other updates for this generation include added Splash trim options for the 1994 model, a driver's side airbag for the 1995 model, the 1st-ever passenger airbag for a truck in the 1996 model and 5-speed automatic transmission in the 1997 model.

The 3rd and final Ford Ranger generation was also the longest lasting starting with the 1998 model that saw a longer wheelbase, a 3" longer regular cab and more powerful engine options. Among the highlights of this generation are:

  • Ford Ranger EV from 1998-2002
  • FX4 Level II Package for off-roaders from 2003-2007
  • Appearance updates & new front bucket seats for 2004
  • Custom graphics for the 2010-2012 models
